Job Title: Field Characterization Supervisor

Location(s): Grand Junction, CO

Hiring Range: $65,000 - $90,000/yr. (Depending on education and experience)

Status: Full-Time

FLSA: Exempt

Job Description:
RSI EnTech, LLC is recruiting for a Field Characterization Supervisor who will work closely with groundwater scientists and site leads to develop work plans, drilling specifications and statement of works. This position will be a part of the team that navigates the Legacy Management (LM) integrated work control and readiness review process required for all field activities.

This position is will be in the field 50% or more of the time.

Primary responsibilities and essential functions:
  • Develop drilling statements of work.
  • Participate in the LM integrated work control and readiness review process.
  • Prepare reports summarizing and documenting field activities.
  • Supervise field characterization efforts related to well installation, soil sampling, aquifer testing, geophysics and measuring water levels and flow rates.
  • Supervise monitoring well installation and sample collection.
  • Translate field documentation and descriptions to electronic formats
  • Work with multiple types of drill rigs.
  • Work with senior technical staff to implement work plan activities.
Work experience, skills, and capabilities needed:
  • Must have excellent field craft skills
o preparing lithologic and well completion logs

o documenting field activities

o troubleshooting field equipment

o repairing field equipment

o adherence to health and safety requirements

o liaison with drillers and other subcontractors

  • Experience developing statements of work
  • Skilled oral and written communication
  • Experience with various types of drill rigs
Technical knowledge, certifications/licenses, and software proficiency required:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Microsoft Office
  • Construction and lithologic description software
  • Technical knowledge of drill rig types and capabilities
Desirable qualifications, experience, or proficiencies of the ideal candidate:

  • Experience mentoring or supervising
Required Education and Years of Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Engineering, Geochemistry or related field and 10 years of relevant field work experience.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Medium Work Category - The employee exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Able to travel on uneven ground under adverse weather conditions. Much of the traveling is up and down hills. Able to work in hot, cold, windy, and sometimes wet conditions. Able to work alone for several hours per day in the field. The employee is regularly required handle or feel, to reach, and communicate. The employee is frequently required to move about and maintain various positions. The employee must have the ability to perceive the environment and observe technical material and emails.
