Black Gold Farms has a Farm Manager position available at its East Grand Forks, MN location. This position is responsible for leading the location’s potato production operations.

Responsibilities include:

• Directing all farm operations, including crop planning and plan execution.
• Directing all warehouse, storage, and shipping operations, including monitoring and adhering to customer expectations for quality, service, and production schedules.
• Managing, hiring, coaching, scheduling, and leading employees.
• Creating and maintaining positive relationships with our land partners to assist with procuring quality land.
• Ensuring the location is properly allocating resources, creating and managing a budget, and managing the P&L for the location.
• Leading the development of the crop plan with the support of the production team. Includes schedules for planting, crop input applications, irrigation, and equipment readiness and harvesting.

Who we are looking for:

• Demonstrated leadership ability is required.
• Production agriculture experience, preferably in potatoes or other row crops.
• Experience with farm related equipment operation, maintenance, and safety.
• Post secondary education in agriculture (or a related field) or equivalent experience.
• Experience in resource allocation, budgeting and record keeping,
• Experience with business management software and Microsoft office.
• Willingness and ability to work extended and flexible hours, including some weekends.
