The Willows is a healing sanctuary for young adult women, led by women. Located just outside of Asheville NC, The Willows is a transformative women's addiction treatment center for 18–35-year-old women. Our focus is on clinical care, and we utilize the latest research-supported clinical modalities to ensure positive outcomes. During their time at our gender-specific treatment center, clients receive a minimum of 25 hours of clinician-led group and individual therapy sessions each week. This level of care ensures that our clients receive the attention they need and deserve while progressing toward growth and change.

We are seeking a Family Therapist for our campus at The Willows. This role will provide Education and Support for families of clients with substance use, trauma and co-occurring mental health disorders including but not limited to assessment, planning, individual and family Support, and family education.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Carry an active assigned caseload
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and families on assigned caseload
  • Complete a thorough assessment of the family system and prescribe a documented growth plan and upload to EMR
  • Conduct family education and support phone calls weekly with each client on caseload
  • Complete weekly progress note uploaded to EMR
  • Provide Psycho-educational groups to clients
  • Attend weekly clinical meeting on campus
  • Collaborate with clinical director and each primary therapist of your caseload on a weekly basis, ensuring optimum outcomes for client
  • Develop and maintain relationships with referring professionals
  • Co-facilitate multifamily workshops to educate families, assist families in building healthy relationships and developing healthy communication skills
  • Develop and implement webinars as educational tools for family members
  • Co-facilitate client graduations on campus when client family is present for graduation.
  • Provide crisis intervention/support to families
  • Facilitate weekly family support calls

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Human Service Field
  • Experience working with clients and families in substance abuse and mental health treatment
  • Experience providing education on the topics of substance abuse and mental health
  • Experience in facilitating group therapy
  • Experience with experiential therapy
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Current CPR/AED/Basic First Aid certification
  • Current Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification
  • Must hold an associate license in the mental health and/or substance use field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Dual licensed in both addiction and mental health treatment (or actively pursuing licensure in both)
  • Experience working with young adults, preferably in an eco-therapeutic setting
