The Family Engagement Specialist is responsible for providing support to patients and their families in order to enhance the quality of patient care. The Family Engagement Specialist works collaboratively with the clinical teams to provide support and guidance to the patients' identified support system, educate them on the disease of addiction, promote family
engagement in the treatment process, and support continuity of care. The Family Engagement Specialist also facilitates patient engagement and re-engagement sessions with the clinical team as needed and attends daily treatment team meetings to support the clinical/case management team as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
● Provides direct support to patients and their identified supports by providing 1-to-1 support sessions.
● Completes introduction call to patient’s family within 24 hours of admission and documents all collateral contact made.
● Facilitates groups as scheduled/assigned.
● Facilitates patient engagement and re-engagement sessions with Clinical Team as needed.
● Participates in AA blocking.
● Provides direct support to patients' support system to help educate, engage, plan, and support complete continuity of care plans while collaborating with the patient's treatment team.
● Attends daily treatment team meetings and supports the clinical/case management team as needed.
● Appropriately and timely documents all patient interaction into EMR.
● Maintains confidentiality and uses appropriate safeguards to protect the privacy of protected health information.
● Responsible for family sessions and patient supervision during those hours.
● Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Associate degree from an accredited college or university in behavioral health science preferred.
LADC or CADC certification is highly preferred.
Family experience preferred
Working knowledge of KIPU or similar health records management system preferred.
High school diploma/GED required.
Minimum of one year experience in the field of substance use treatment or closely related field.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $57,520.00 - $61,461.00 per year
