Facilities Supervisor-Cape Cod Mosquito Squad Duties and Responsibilities
The Facilities Supervisor role is year round, and provides training and leadership for the Field Technician team to ensure 100% customer satisfaction. This role requires strong problem-solving abilities, excellent interpersonal skills and a customer service focus.
The Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for supporting the team of technicians to enable this high performing team to deliver the best customer service possible with a focus on operational efficiencies. This is achieved by ensuring all equipment is functional and operating at optimum levels. This highly rewarding position offers a competitive starting salary and room for advancement.
Specific duties:
-Become an active member of the Cape Cod Mosquito Squad management team, by attending and participating in weekly meetings.
- Support the Field Operations Supervisor with training technicians on vehicle and blower use/repairs.
-Monitor body cams, review discrepancies/issues with Techs and Operations Supervisor.
-Trucks and backpack blower maintenance.
-Interact with vendors and customers as necessary.
-Build strong relationships with internal team members (Office Staff and Technicians)
-Train Techs on trucks, truck repair and maintenance[sg1] and backpack blower repair and maintenance.
-Study for and successfully complete state pesticide exam
-Review Tech training program to provide input and feedback to Operations Supervisor
During the season
1. Develop and implement process/checklists for truck maintenance (for the vehicle file).
2. Develop process to inspect vehicles weekly to ensure proper prep including cleanliness, product and equipment. Address any specific issues or concerns directly with the individual(s) involved.
3. Monitor fuel levels in gas cans, ensure fuel cans are filled.
4. Inform Office Manager of specific inventory needs.
5. Ensure trucks are cleaned by techs, meet with them as they return from field.
6. Be sure product is ordered, change over product barrels and take rinsed barrels to the dump.
Additional requirements:
-Current valid driver’s license.
-Ability to obtain Massachusetts Pesticide Applicator license.
-A strong competency in mentoring and coaching.
-Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedure manuals and operating and maintenance instructions.
-Ability to obtain an elevated understanding of processes, procedures and responsibilities performed by technicians.
-Organized, ability to problem solve on equipment and vehicle issues. Repairing in house small issues, outsourcing more complicated repairs.
-Excellent verbal communication skills, including ability to explain and train on use of equipment.
-Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, with generous time off during the off season.
-Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, working in small spaces and/or various heights, work in all climates and safely operate a motor vehicle
