The Facilities Manager oversees the teams responsible for building maintenance, repairs, fabrication and custodial. They have a deep understanding through accumulated
experience and education of appropriate maintenance, repair, and custodial techniques. They possesses drive to educate and inspire staff, volunteers, and guests through problem solving, creativity, communication and organization.

Responsibilities include:

• Schedule and supervise staff, volunteers and outside contractors to appropriately accomplish maintenance, repair, and custodial projects.
• Daily and quarterly inspection and maintenance of Aviary to provide a safe, clean and tidy appearance.
• Perform and coordinate implementation of work requests and quarterly maintenance.
• Responds and deals with emergency requests as they arise.
• Work within the Operations Leadership Team to manage staff and address problems or emergencies.

Job Qualifications:

• High School or Trade School graduate. Valid driver’s license required.
• Two years experience in grounds or facilities maintenance.
• Experience managing staff and contractors.
• Specific experience in irrigation, plumbing, welding, carpentry, HVAC, electrical or small motor repair preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.
• Must possess effective problem solving skills, and use of sound judgment.
• This person should have the ability to respond quickly and appropriately to emergency or sensitive situations along with the ability to carry out work according to policy and procedures.

Comments:

This position involves lifting heavy supplies, bending, cleaning and occasional carrying of items; use of various hand and electrical tools; working in all weather conditions.
Typical work week is Sunday – Thursday. This is a full time benefited salaried position $41,600 – $45,760 depending on experience.
