Description: If you are skilled fabricator with experience working as a Press Break Operator, consider applying to work in our Cortland Manor, NY shop.
Fabricators, such as Press Break Operators, manipulate raw material (such as steel or aluminum) for the making of machines and structures. Steel and other metals are cut and shaped during the fabrication process. Fabrication is a very hands-on part of the manufacturing process. Materials used in the fabrication process are plate metal, formed metal, expanded metal, welding wire, hardware, castings, and fittings. The tools used to manipulate these metal projects are also diverse but some of the more common tools used include any materials used in the welding process, band saws, cutting torches, grinders, plasma cutters, cut off saws, punch press, and brake press.
Requirements: Company specific policy and procedure training is provided, but prior experience as a Fabricator (Brake Press Operator) is required for this role, and special consideration will be given to applicants with an expanded or more focused work history in this area.
Education Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience Required: 1+ years machine shop experience, or similar experience in a manufacturing environment operating a pneumatic brake press.
Skills: Comfortable working in English, both written and conversational. General computer literacy, especially for Windows operating systems. Experience with precision measurement tools, capable in the use of calipers, gauge pins, and drop-through gauges. Able to read and interpret detail drawings and blueprints. Able to set up the brake press, monitor tolerances and provide feedback to design drafting for new products.
Compensation starting at $27.90/Hour additional consideration given based on scope of prior experience.
This is a Full-time Position
Hours and Days: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Overtime is optional and appreciated.
