An exciting new opportunity opened for an experienced Execution Trader to join and be key part of the formation of a new global Quantitative Trading desk.

The new desk leverages our existing best in class systematic & algo trading infrastructure, strategies & data platforms to form a new core pillar of RWE Supply & Trading which will deliver significant additional gross margin.

You will join a dynamic and growing team of systematic traders and analysts with access to a wide range of global commodity markets and 24/5 algo & manual execution. In addition to operating proprietary trading strategies, Quantitative trading also provides execution and market intelligence to the wider company and operates joint ventures with other trading desks globally.

Your responsibilities

• Execute signals efficiently in global OTC & Exchange commodity markets via screen based trading platforms and brokers

• Build and maintain relationships with brokers, counterparties & partners

• Continually asses slippage, liquidity & market constraints both to improve future execution and also to keep quant traders informed as to current market conditions

• Manage all execution within multi-dimensional limit structure

• Oversea algorithmic trading platforms and execution wheel for all markets

• Work with global team to ensure smooth transition across multiple time zones throughout the trading day

• Develop systematic trading strategies

Your profile

• Academic level in e.g. natural-/data sciences, engineering, economics or comparable quantitative background

• Excellent knowledge of commodity markets including European energy futures and forwards and global commodity futures markets.

• Ability to make quick decisions and to work under pressure with high sense of responsibility

• Strong team player & excellent communicator with a high degree of personal commitment, motivation and the ability to work independently

• Willingness to work in different locations on occasions

• Fluent in English (verbal & written)

Advantageous, but not a must

• Experience of systematic trading strategies would be advantageous, as would coding (Python / C#)

• Machine learning experience
