Job description
The Event Specialist assists the Event Manager with planning, set-up, execution and follow-up of property functions and events (meetings, weddings, conferences, etc.). The Event Specialist will work to facilitate execution of events per client specifications. The Events Specialist will have a varying schedule and must be willing to jump in and help other departments as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Set-up/break down banquet meeting space per client instructions, including tables, linens, settings, center pieces, dishes, audio-visual equipment and other event specifications.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of banquet spaces, before, during and after events.
- Maintain communication with the client contact and Event Manager before, during and after event.
- Provide excellent customer service to all guests.
- Accommodate and anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and efficiently.
- Create signage and applicable merchandising for assigned events.
- Complete administrative work as needed.

Requirements:Education and Experience:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and be able to interface effectively with customers, staff, vendors and management.
- Customer service experience, preferred.
- General computer knowledge including Microsoft Office, Point of Sale systems, printers, and other common office equipment.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of AV equipment.
- Task-driven and detail-oriented mindset.
- Creative and effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to problem solve in high-stress situations.
Physical Requirements:
- Long hours frequently required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to stand on feet throughout the shift and frequent physical activity.
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
- Must be able to climb stairs occasionally.
- While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat).
