Wagner Development is a fast growing general construction company that saw a 300% increase in estimating and 100% increase in revenue YoY. In preparation for continued growth, Wagner Development is looking to add an experienced Project Estimator to the team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in construction related estimating, superior organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment (Project Management experience is a plus.) This position offers opportunities for leadership, team building, developing and implementing standard operating procedures for the estimating department, and building estimating systems.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and team members regarding new and current projects
- Have a clear understanding of the scopes of work up for bid
- Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors
- Review and evaluate all cost estimates
- Manage bid pricing from all vendors and subcontractors
- Ensure timely completion of estimates
- Calculate takeoffs
- Qualify bids and have a complete understanding of all bid documents
Required Skills:
- 3+ years experience estimating in the construction industry
- Ability to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates
- Detailed understanding of commercial construction and estimating process
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
