Job description

This position is responsible for production timely & accurate estimates for projects coming into production and effectively communicating requirement and plans for all jobs, per company policies and procedures.

Department Goals, Strategies, and Procedures:

Estimate labor & material cost of labels, printing $ binding books, pamphlets, periodical and other printed and promotional materials based on data processing and mailing.

· Follow and Support department procedures and company policies

· Understands and supports the Company, Mission, Vision, Cores Values and business Attributes

· Plays a role in the execution of company goals that when achieved will accumulate in the fulfillment of the Company Vision

· Examine Specifications, sketches, and layouts to calculate production costs using material and pricing schedules contained in vendor price books and vendor estimates

· Establish and maintain relationship with outside vendors and industry experts; maintain knowledge of current and new technologies

· Communicate and negotiate with vendor with vendors on behalf of the company to obtain competitive pricing & scheduling to meet our customer needs

· Partner with customer service and other business functions to leverage their skills, thus enabling the sales representative to focus on developing new and existing sales opportunity

· Estimate cost of shipping or mailing finished printed matter if specified on requested

Quoting

· Read and interprets packages specifications from a customer’s specification sheet, purchase order, sketches, or samples

· Uses Microsoft ft CRM and Print Stream to research pricing guidelines

· Works closely with sales regarding new opportunities with top customer and new prospects

· Calculates unit and production costs; considering facts such as but not limited to size, paper stock requirements, finishing operations, post finish operation, end use of product, and quality of finished product

· Confers with department heads and production personnel to develop or confirm information regarding various cost elements

· Focus on department goals of producing competitive =, accurate quotes within a targeted time frame

Planning

· Review all incoming jobs for cost effectiveness and production efficiency

· Changed jobs to match actual functions being performed

· Creates change orders to reflect prices differences between the quoted price and new price after changes to the job

· Analyzes production specifications and plant capabilities to determine the most efficient way to produce the project

Skills

· Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to customer service, sales and customers on all aspects of the production of a package

· Problem Solving: Develop alternatives solutions to jobs that differ from the quote

· Must possess a high level of communication skills-both oral and written, accuracy organizational skills and dedication to succeed

· Excellent math skills

· Mailing and related experience in all phases of production (printing, prepress, press, bindery, mailing, marketing and shipping)

· Team Player

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals

Safety

· Knows and follows the safety procedures of the department

· Reports work related injuries to the supervisor

Education or Experience

· Two years degree from college or four years related experience
