Job description
The Skid Steer Operator is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support and assist the preparation of graded railroad ties for inspection and delivery. Such tasks include operating a skid steer, moving rail ties, training on heavy equipment, banding product, and loading/unloading materials. This position is also responsible for all fueling, care, and maintenance of their equipment, as well as compliance with all company, local, and Federal safety laws.
Job Details:
- Organizing and preparing railroad ties for shipment or delivery
- Counting and recording graded rail tie volume
- Performing basic maintenance tasks on equipment
- Helping maintain a clean/safe work environment throughout the work day
- Assists management with specified tasks, as assigned
Candidate Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Required:
- Ability to work overtime
- Basic math skills (addition, subtractions)
- Experience working in small teams
- Knowledge of various types of heavy equipment
- Willingness to perform any task
Background Experiences
- Experience working outdoors
- At least 1 year of skid steer operating experience
