Job Summary

Avantor is looking for a dedicated and experienced Environmental Waste Specialist. Working in partnership with under limited supervision, is responsible for dedicating EHS3 support to 2 Ohio manufacturing facilities. Acts as a liaison and ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. Manages 2 large quantity generator sites and assist the EHS3 manager as needed.

This role will be a full-time position base out of Solon, OH site.

What we’re looking for

• Education: bachelor’s degree in science or related field.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a regulated environment.

Who you are:

• Coordinate offsite disposal from client sites.
• Coordinate and schedule disposal of waste materials.
• Be detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Manage vendors needed for waste disposal or down packing if needed.
• Assist sales with quotes on waste disposal.
• Create a waste sustainability / reduction program for Aurora and Solon.
• Manage transition for Aurora to become a large quantity generator with the EPA.
• Manage both sites emergency response programs and coordinate with local responders.
• Train and maintain compliance for the on-site ERT at Solon and create an ERT for Aurora.

• By providing dedicated EHS3 support to 2 Ohio manufacturing facilities. Acts as a liaison and ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. Manages 2 large quantity generator sites and assist the EHS3 manager as needed.
• By providing Solon site with Legal compliance by maintaining EPA and DOT required manifest, LDRs, Top Sheets and Stop Over Sheets.
• Replace the labor of down-packing, labeling, and inventorying by the on-site Heritage associate.
• Manage waste streams to ensure proper compliance and reduce unnecessary expenses in disposal.
• Manage the Solon waste reduction and recycling / resale initiative.
• Manage EPA generator status for Solon and Aurora and maintain compliance for both.
