The Amlon Group is a global environmental services and trading company in existence for over 35 years, headquartered in Plano, Texas. We are looking for a EHS superstar to join our growing team.

Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and document employee H&S training.
  • Maintain EHS supply inventory.
  • Maintain EHS equipment calibrations.
  • Site survey and document environmental compliance requirements.
  • HSE technician will report to a corporate level HSE manager once the HSE management structure has been defined. Until that time, the technician will report to the Port Allen Plant Manager.
  • Complete and submit all environmental regulatory reports on time.
  • Ensures compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) laws and regulations.
  • Develops new and creative methods to drive continuous improvement of HSE practices.
  • Ensures all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.
  • Responsible for developing and managing safety programs (business continuity, worker’s compensation, general liability, Occupational Safety, etc.).
  • Responsible for creating compliance tools to ensure Safety programs are adhered to and maintained in accordance with Corporate Risk Management & Safety compliance requirements.
  • Consults on expense and capital projects that require operational safety oversight.
  • Support Operations and Legal in regulatory requirements and incident management.
  • Manage all company EHS training, including on-boarding/new hire training and any job specific training.
  • Perform safety audits of company facilities, employees, and their work areas.
  • Inspect safety equipment for proper working conditions.
  • Manage medical surveillance program.
  • Complete annual OSHA incident reports (300, 300A and 301).
  • Run an effective Near Miss program.
  • Investigate employee injuries and manage the medical response as needed, including worker’s compensation claims.

Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Safety, Environmental, or other related discipline.
  • Spanish is a PLUS
  • 3+ years of EHS compliance experience.
  • OSHA 30-hour Training, preferred.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office products.
  • Must have the ability to communicate well with employees from all levels.
  • Point of contact for federal, state, and local regulators and inspectors (OSHA, EPA, IDEM).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, presentation skills.

Physical Requirements and Workplace Conditions:

  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Employee is required to sit, stand, walk for extended periods.
  • Travel will be required to visit company locations across multiple states. Travel by car and airplane will be required.
  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee will encounter while performing the essential job functions of this job.
  • This position works in a typical office environment and will be required to be outdoor in the plant from time to time as needed. Safety glasses and closed toe shoes are always required when in the plant or warehouse.
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate
