RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is seeking entry level to experienced engineers for multiple roles in our clients engine performance & testing teams located in Mossville, IL. The selected candidate(s) will be expected to lead engine programs that ensure that the engine systems can meet the performance requirements on the program. This includes helping to define the performance requirements, test planning, and daily communication with test cell operators. Experience with engine operation and testing is highly desired.

Our customer's facility is a world-class engineering and manufacturing center. This is a full time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, direct hire by our customer, and additional opportunities within our own organization.

Mechanical Test Engineer - Performance

The job duties may include any of the following:

• Make daily contact with technician(s) and test cell operators discussing activities.
• Work with engine platform group to develop performance requirements.
• Coordinate testing activities and test cell layout plan to properly map engines.
• Work with Machine shop/assembly for test cell alteration needs.
• Help coordinate complex fit up for new iron as needed.
• Test planning and execution.

Requirements

• BSME, BSMET or equivalent degree with experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated through work experience or hobbies.
• Excellent communication both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Ability to travel (less than 10% of time).

Desired Attributes

• Ability to work well independently and as a collaborative member of a cross functional team.
• Experience with diesel or gas engine testing.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Experience with shop or factory support.
• Hands on experience with shop tools.
• Proficiency working with computers and computer systems.
