Engineering Technician - Sensor Product Development

The Sensor Product Development team has an immediate need for an Engineering Technician to work at our Westerville, OH, office. This role will involve the assembly of prototype devices based on general work instructions. Devices will be built according to engineering drawings. The Engineering Technician will be primarily responsible for assembling devices and recording the results to provide feedback to the engineering team. Secondary tasks may involve limited clean room work to support wafer fabrication. A successful candidate will be detail oriented, observant, and curious. Work will be completed in a lab environment or clean room.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Sensor Assembly supporting Product Development
  • Testing devices for performance and reliability
  • Developing new assembly processes together with Development Engineers
  • Incorporating new tools and techniques to improve existing processes
  • Provide feedback to Development Engineers to improve product manufacturability

Qualified Candidate will possess the following:

  • 2-year Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience of 2+ years with die bonding, wire bonding, hermetic packaging, and clean room working
  • 3+ years work experience in a comparable role
  • Ability to solder small devices, J-standard soldering preferred
  • Experience working with microscopes
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Familiarity with low voltage simple electrical circuits
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work with computers and MS Office products

Additional Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following:

  • Experience working in a clean room environment
  • Knowledge of proper ESD precautions
  • Experience working with cryogenics
  • Familiarity with hermetic electronic packaging processes
  • Familiarity with wire bonding systems
