Position Summary and Responsibilities

Support PoNC reduction efforts by:

  • Helping technicians trouble shoot problem TWT’s using all available resources of TWT performance knowledge and provide actions to take before a tube is rejected.
  • Supporting the VE or Design Engineer in release of engineering change orders (ECO) for active product line designs.
  • Analyzing TECO data, determine actions, and ultimately provide feedback to Program Management regarding the effectiveness of the TECO.
  • Conducting experiments to prove/disprove inconsistent or non-correlating information.
  • Offering solutions and improvements to product line designs.
  • Managing equipment modifications to prevent failures. (Equipment CAPA)
  • Researching commercially available components and assembly's: verifying functionality, compatibility and practicality.
  • Improving TWT RF performance and reduce oscillation with adjustments to magnet stacks.
  • Work with planning to manage inventory as needed, including paperwork, process, and reporting.

Communicate Technical performance and status of TWTs, as needed through:

  • Participation in weekly problem TWT review meeting.
  • Daily E-mail status of problem TWT programs, Randy and Izzy to designate that status.
  • Support VE database failure analysis input from Test.
  • Maintain a list of difficult TWT’s (marginal tubes in regards to specs, time consuming processing etc.) that may require an engineering effort to make the process more efficient.
  • Sustain lessons learned database

Qualifications

  • An associate (two-year technical) degree, a diploma from a technical or vocational school or equivalent military training or minimum of 4 - 5 year of related experience.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of the principles of electronics and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Must have minimum of 5 years TWT technician experience with strong technical and analytical skills, must meet a minimum of Senior Technician level competency.
  • Possess the ability to train less experienced production technicians.
  • A broad knowledge of equipment currently used in testing electronic assemblies using both traditional and non-traditional equipment such as multi-meter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, power supply, function generator, LCD meter, power meters, etc. and new products as they come available in the industry.
  • Perform Tests per Engineering specification, and provide data without supervision. Capable of reading and interpreting TECO, ECO and customer specs to provide direction and data as required.
  • Must have intermediate computer skills in MS Office including the ability to open and create files in Word, create and manipulate data in Excel and use E-mail, PowerPoint presentations and calendars in Outlook.
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills at a business level; follow written and verbal procedures, instructions, read drawings, and write business reports about the work accomplished.
  • Fluent in manufacturing resource planning (MRP) and configuration management (CM) software tools common to department standards.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
U.S. Citizenship is required.

Citizenship Requirements

Due to classified work at the facility and related access restrictions, successful applicants must maintain U.S. Citizenship to allow the person to hold a U.S. Government security clearance.

USD $37,217.00/Yr.

Max Salary

USD $74,435.00/Yr.
