Engineering Manager

The
Engineering Manager will be based at the Cleves location.
JOB SUMMARY: The Engineering Manager is responsible for building the systems and process that enable the engineering function to scale and provide both internal and external customer best in class project engineering and design services.
Job Duties
- Continuously evaluates the overall bench strength of the engineering team, manages team members development and performance to ensure they are learning, growing and engaged.
- Develops process documentation and standardized workflows and leads the implementation of QAQC processes to produce drawings and project designs. Verifies engineers are adhering to quality standards and delivering consistent customer deliverables.
- Assists the sales team with properly qualifying design and specification changes and asking the right questions to clearly understand what customers are trying to solve. Discusses and clarifies design changes with customers, ensuring the scope of work and project specifications are clearly defined and understood.
- Maintains appropriate oversight and control over projects through communication and coordination of activities between sales, production, production control and engineers. Works with production control on prioritizing jobs and optimizing workflows.
- Conducts design reviews of R&D projects and assists with determining the scalability of a project.
- Provides business case justifications for implementing new technologies. Leads the selection of platform vendors, approves contract terms, monitors project budgets, and evaluates Service Level Agreements.
Candidate Requirements
- Prefer 2-5 years of experience in management role, developing team members, implementing processes and improving efficiencies.
- Would love previous experience in manufacturing/production/sheet metal industry
- Associate degree, Bachelors degree preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/TEAMS, ERP systems, CAD, AutoCad, (Solidworks, Solid Edge, Inventor) is required
- Must be an approachable, hands-on team member that will jump in where needed, and lead by example
- Behaving with a growth and development mindset and seek opportunities to for team and personal growth
- Traveling between divisions may be required
