Job description
Meets all eligibility requirements of a registered nurse. Works under the supervision of Employee Health Services Director and Supervisor. The RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individualized care to deliver occupational health services according to departmental policies, procedures and Nurse Practice Act. She/he will individualize patient care to provide health assessment, health screening, case management, and implementation of a care plan and educational programs. Works toward control of communicable diseases in the employee population. Actively promotes Employee Health and Safety. Performs other job duties as assigned.
  • Completes nursing assessments of employees, and documents appropriately into patient record.

  • Develops a plan of care based upon the assessment of age appropriate, and developmental needs of the patient.

  • Collaborates with other health team members in developing a plan of care to support medical management and teaching.

  • Provides, delegates, coordinates and evaluates the plan of care.

  • Initiates, manages and participates in employee health and safety teaching. Educates employees on safe work practice techniques and use of related equipment.

  • Provides assessment, first-aid treatment and evaluation for injuries and illnesses in accordance with standardized pre-approved written medical protocols.

  • Communicates with employees, medical professionals, claims staff and others to obtain information for medical case management. Performs pre-placement physical assessments, return-to-work and health surveillance evaluations and ergonomic evaluations according to department protocols.

  • Appropriately utilizes clinical resources and referrals to maximize medical management including temporary TAD assignments with other departments.

  • Completes initial case evaluations and monitors case progress.

  • Facilitates physiological, psychosocial and spiritual care of the employee.

  • Participates in Infection Control surveillance activities. Maintains statistical data for performance

  • Contributes to cost-effective patient care by monitoring use of time, equipment, and supplies.

  • Actively participates in achieving departmental goals.

  • Other duties as assigned.



Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, Ergonomics, Workers Compensation and OSHA.

Licensure: Licensed as RN in the State of California. Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards. Certified Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) preferred.

Experience: Four (4) years nursing experience, two of which is physical assessment
The hourly rate for this position is $56.89 - $71.11. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
