Welcome to VCA Veterinary Emergency Service & Veterinary Specialty Center, in Madison, WI!

We are growing our Emergency & Critical Care Service and seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our 2nd/swing shift team!

Our Emergency and Critical Care Technicians thrive in a fast-paced service, handle critical case, and enjoy the stimulating caseload. Our Technicians have the opportunity to sharpen and advance their technical skills every day.

Snapshot of the Role:

• Triage
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
• Assist with all aspects of patient care from admission through discharge, including departmental rounds
• Monitoring hospitalized patients, treatments and nursing care
• Communicate with clients
• Physical examinations and patient assessments
• Venipuncture/IVC placement, cystocentesis, urinary catheter placement and NG tube placement.
• Anesthesia and sedation procedures
• Blood transfusion therapy including collection, administration, and transfusion reactions
• Plus more!

Schedule: Full-time or part-time opportunities, with flexible scheduling. Swing Shift or 2nd shift. Hours: 3 pm - 12 am, 4 x 10 hour shifts.

Compensation: $22 - $27 /hour

We offer a shift differential to all hourly associates who work within a specific timeframe. Shift differential is $3.00 /hr.

• Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
