Job Overview
As an Emergency Vehicle Auto Technician working under the Aircraft Rescue Firefighting Support section you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain over 30 pieces of firefighting vehicles and related equipment, and provide support to 6 fire stations daily. We are looking for a well-rounded Technician who can provide great customer service, teamwork skills, and who can effectively perform the quality of work completed in this section.
What you will be doing: Performs tune-ups, replacing parts and making adjustments, using test equipment and technical manuals. Uses test equipment to troubleshoot problems, determines corrective action, makes repairs or adjustments and road tests vehicles or equipment to make certain that problem or condition has been corrected. Inspects and makes repairs to hydraulic systems on equipment; replaces components as required. Trains to repair Crash/Fire/Rescue equipment such as high-pressure plumbing and pumps, foam induction and powder firefighting and hydraulic systems.
What you need: Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent. Three (3) years’ experience as a diesel automotive mechanic. Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above. Incumbent must possess a set of mechanic's tools to perform skilled work.
