Applications are being accepted for the position of Emergency 911 Dispatcher for the City of Grandview Heights, Division of Police.

Job duties include answering emergency & non-emergency calls for service, dispatching police personnel, equipment, & supplies as requested. The successful candidate will be trained on the use of a computer-aided dispatch (CAD), records management system (RMS), & geographic information system mapping (GIS).

Necessary qualifications include having excellent listening & communication skills, the ability to multi-task, stand or sit for prolonged periods of time, understand & carry out oral & written orders, maintain records & prepare reports, & operate standard office equipment, including the use of a computer keyboard.

Qualified applicants must be 18 years old, have a high school diploma (or equivalent), two years of clerical, general office, or call center experience. Experience working with law enforcement, fire/EMS, & computer-aided dispatch is preferred. Candidates must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays & successfully complete certified training involving numerous computer systems. Candidates are subject to a background check, truth verification exam & a drug/alcohol screen. Competitive pay based on qualifications & experience. Base salary range is $52,000 - $69,000 with excellent benefits & shift differential for any hours worked on second or third shift.
