Job Description

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation and maintaining of electrical and control systems for multiple facilities.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement electrical control and distribution system projects independently and with other engineering staff.

Design and implement hardware installation and cabling for network and data projects.

Gather systems performance data to identify areas for improvement utilizing data collection software.

Assist with updating electrical distribution and control system schematics for improved safety and troubleshooting.

Collaborates with electrical engineering technicians on monitoring and troubleshooting systems.

Coordinate with maintenance department on electrical preventative maintenance

Perform other tasks or duties as required or needed

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field is required.

5+ years experience as an electrical engineer in a manufacturing environment is required.

Experience working in a meat processing or packaging company is preferred

Experience with PLC programming, either Siemens or Allen Bradley, and associated HMI systems is required

Strong understanding of control system design within understanding of NEC, OSHA, and similar regulations

Understanding of low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems

Excellent troubleshooting skills on electrical systems

Good oral and written communication skills

Ability to work well with people at all levels

Flexibility to work on a variety of shifts and work extensive overtime, including weekends and holidays

Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, humid, and odorous environments

Proficient in Microsoft Office and Autodesk software

Ability to travel to other locations as needed

Physical Requirements

Work is primarily performed in an office environment requiring ability to sit, talk, hear, frequent walking, standing, and sitting; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Ability to use standard office equipment such as telephone, computer, and copier.
