Department Overview
The team of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of clean, safe, reliable, and affordable energy to nearly 16 million people in Northern and Central California. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response. This new position will report into the System Inspections Quality Control Transmission Field team

Position Summary
The Electric Quality Control (QC) Specialist conducts field assessments of completed inspections on PG&E’s electric transmission facilities. These work assessments focus on verifying the quality of Overhead (OH) and underground (UG) inspections as required by GO 165.
Position location is flexible throughout PG&E service territory.

Job Responsibilities

Works independently with some guidance from senior peers or leaders on a wide range of straightforward to complex audits & assessments. Uses knowledge of electric utility regulatory general orders to conduct quality control reviews to measure adherence to and accountability for the inspections as required by GO 165..
Builds, maintains and manages a schedule of quality control audits to conduct within the assigned MWC(s).
Prepares and communicates results through detailed reports. Presents to leaders with summaries, conclusions and recommendations.
Identifies, documents and shares best practices and lessons learned from field assessments. Collaborates with, provides guidance and addresses questions from PS&R supervisors, M&C supervisors and QA specialists. Provide just-in-time feedback, sharing best practices, findings and corrective actions.
Validates quality of inspections and patrols for OH and UG assets completed by compliance inspectors.
Performs additional audit, quality control and/or validation activities to support compliance with GO 165, 95 and 128 or to support other regulatory audit requirements such as order closure verifications.
Understands, demonstrates and adheres to all company and regulatory safety practices and requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum:
High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
Utility industry experience
Job-related experience, 5 years
QEW-Qualified Electrical Worker certification
Record of Electric Utility Apprentice Program training completion
CA Class C License, or equivalent
Ability to travel up to 50 percent of working time

Desired:
Bachelors Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
Current or previous PG&E experience as a Compliance Inspector, Journey Lineman, Field Engineer Technician, M&C Coordinator, Quality Auditor.
Experience in compliance inspection, distribution maintenance & construction, quality assurance or quality control auditing.
Experience in conducting root cause investigations
ASQ-American Society for Quality, Quality Improvement Specialist certification
ASQ-American Society for Quality, CQA-Certified Quality Auditor certification
