Aviagen Turkeys is seeking an individual to work at the Pedigree Hatchery as an Egg Truck Driver. The Egg Truck Driver is primarily responsible for transporting eggs from the laying farms to the hatchery and delivering poults to rearing farms.

Duties: The following duties will vary according to the needs of the department. Normal duties will include:

• Following all biosecurity procedures related to movement between farms and hatchery
• Driving truck to laying sites for egg pickup and delivery to hatchery
• Delivering egg packaging supplies to laying sites
• Delivering poults to rear farms
• Assisting with preparing egg shipments and inventory
• Cleaning & disinfecting egg room
• Maintaining vehicle log and completing pre-trip inspections
• Confirming accuracy of egg transfer sheets
• Hauling hatchery waste to landfill using a gooseneck dump trailer.
• Assisting hatchery staff and/or delivery department as needed.
• Comply with Company Bio-Security Rules and Health, Safety and Environmental Policies, Animal Welfare Policies and all other procedures and standards.

Requirements:

• Willingness to work flexible hours (weekend work may be required)
• Ability to lift 50lbs repetitively
• Ability to work independently with minimal instruction or supervision
• CDL license NOT required

Preferred Skills:

• Experience pulling a gooseneck trailer
• General Maintenance skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.50 per hour
