About the Role

The Ecommerce Merchandise Planner is a critical position within Ariat’s supply chain that falls under the direction of the eCommerce Manager. This role will support the growing domestic Ariat eCommerce business and will be responsible for creating the sales demand forecasts and managing the inventory planning to support Ariat’s eCommerce financial goals. The ideal candidate is passionate about data analysis and has a proven track record of driving sales and managing the inventory needs of an eCommerce business. This is a highly integrated position, interfacing with numerous cross-functional teams, so clear, constructive communication skills, both verbal and written, are imperative.

You’ll Make a Difference by

• Creating and maintaining both top-down and bottom-up pre-season plans and in-season forecasts at style and class level
• Collaborating with the eCommerce Planning Manager and the Direct-to-Consumer Merchant to support seasonal buying strategies across multiple product categories
• Completing quarterly and seasonal hindsight analysis to highlight opportunities for future seasons
• Collaborating with the Direct-to-Consumer Merchant to build assortment recommendations
• Collaborating with the Wholesale Planning Team to incorporate buying needs for product shared between all channels
• Placing orders in SAP on a timely basis with continual review of inventory levels and adjustments made to support sales demand
• Partnering with merchants, site operations, and marketing teams to ensure inventory investments are aligned with product and marketing strategies
• Identifying product opportunities and risks down to the size level
• Identifying, designing, developing, and implementing new business tools and reports to inform buying decisions as well as communicating business performance to cross-functional partners and the leadership team
• Managing monthly markdowns and promotional cadence with merchants
• Writing purchase orders for 3rd party products, tracking shipment and receipt of product

About You

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a business-related field
• At least 3+ years of experience in planning for a retail company (eCommerce experience required)
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, Excel experience required.
• Aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
• Experience with enterprise-level software applications similar to Cognos, Tableau, SAP/AFS and Vanguard’s demand/supply planning
• Strong understanding of retail metrics, including sales, inventory, and margin as well as experience managing a monthly OTB
• Enjoy math and have strong analytical and logic skills
• Exhibit intellectual curiosity, a passion to learn, and an ability to maintain a positive attitude
• Strong communicator who works well with multiple cross-functional partners
• Organized, self-starter who takes initiative and is flexible and adaptive to changing priorities

Pay: $75,000.00 per year
