Job description
Western State Hospital is committed to patient care and we strive to serve all patients and family members with the utmost respect.
We have day shift, Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., or Tuesday - Saturday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. available.
or
A work schedule for a 4-day/10-hour shift per week from 8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday - Saturday.
Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate.
Some of what you'll do
- Engage patients in direct care Active Treatment Groups or 1:1 active treatment using recovery principles and evidence-based practices
- Active treatment documentation
- Plan, acquire supplies, implement, and review active treatment groups and 1:1 active treatment
- Write goal-related interventions in treatment plans and progress notes, and adapt programming
- Treatment team meetings regarding progress, share your input, and provide strategy for patient treatment
- Member of an interdisciplinary team that oversees the development of patient treatment goals and implementation of treatment
- Respond to patient psychiatric, behavioral, or medical emergencies, using de-escalation skills and techniques as needed
Who should apply?
Those with a bachelor’s degree, preferably involving a major study in sociology or other social science, and 2 years of experience working with clients in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
An Agency Affiliated Counselor License is needed within 30 days of employment.
Desired
- Substance Use Disorder Professional license
- Experience providing services in an inpatient setting
- Knowledge of the group facilitation process
- Knowledge of psychiatric symptoms
- Effective communication
