Customer Service Specialist 2

Are you ready to put your customer service skills to work? We need your talent and enthusiasm to provide direct customer service support and assistance to both our customers and staff.

The Economic Services Administration is looking for a customer service professional to join our hard-working team at the King North Community Services Office located in Seattle, WA. In this role, you will provide administrative support to staff and management. You will also provide support to a diverse population of customers, the public, and other agencies with general program information about public assistance.

King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible to receive a free ORCA card for transportation use.

Some of what you'll do:


  • Issue new and replacement EBT cards to customers
  • Explain how to use food benefit cards and what is available to purchase with them
  • Work with group homes, treatment centers, and clients to issue alternate cards as needed/authorized
  • Issue and explain how to use bus passes and vouchers
  • Makes vehicle reservations for CSD staff and conference room reservations for statewide requests
  • Maintain excellent communication with the supervisor
  • Provide ongoing feedback as needed

  • Ability to maintain acceptable quality and productivity levels
  • Experience with applying policies and procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others
  • Demonstrate proficient keyboarding skills and proficiently utilize all applicable computer programs to perform job duties
  • Ability to successfully multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changes
  • Adhere to office expectations for punctuality and attendance
Who should apply?
Equivalent experience providing assistance to clients/customers regarding inquiries, complaints, or problems.

OR

Professionals with an Associate’s degree AND Two years of experience providing assistance to clients/customers regarding inquiries, complaints, or problems.

OR

A Bachelor’s degree.
