Job Title: Drywall Finisher and Painter

Introduction: We are seeking a drywall finisher and painter to join our team. We are a family-owned residential and light commercial remodeling contractor serving Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, VA. We specialize in work in older (100+ year) buildings, and this work often requires “out-of-the-box” solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Installs drywall panels in vertical and overhead applications.
• Interior and exterior painting, including trim and patch work.
• When drywall/painting work is not available, assists lead carpenters and carpentry apprentices with other tasks.
• Read and understand blueprints, specifications, plans, and other trade drawings to determine project layouts and dimensions.
• Use various hand tools, power tools, fixed shop equipment, and machinery in a safe manner.
• Works in a manner to promote safety.
• Able to lift, carry, and position materials typically found on a construction site.
• Work at heights on ladders and scaffolding, as well as in restricted height spaces such as crawlspaces.
• Conducts themselves in a professional and courteous manner toward customers, co-workers, and other tradesmen.

Hours, Pay, and Benefits

• $17-22/hour, depending on experience
• 8.5 Hour workday: 8am-5pm, 30-minute lunch, Fridays short day (finish at 40 hours/week)
• 2 weeks PTO
• Stipend for self-provided health insurance
• Flexible scheduling

Education and Experience

• High school diploma, preferred
• 2+ years’ experience in drywall, or a combination of trade experience and trade education.
• Experience with installation of acoustic ceilings is preferred.
• Read/write/speak English sufficiently to communicate with co-workers, read construction documents, and fill out administrative forms.
