Position Summary
The Driver performs daily delivery of customer orders in a safe and efficient manner and provides exceptional customer service while on deliveries.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

• Deliver product to the correct addresses in a timely manner, obtaining proof of receipt when necessary.
• Establish professional relationships with appropriate customer personnel when making deliveries.
• May load delivery vehicle with products scheduled for delivery.
• Maintain vehicle logbook with truck mileage and deliveries made.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks on delivery vehicles and drives vehicles safely and efficiently. Reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to the supervisor.
• Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks of warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts where applicable.
• Maintain clean and safe work area, including delivery vehicles.
• Perform general warehouse duties when deliveries are complete.

• Actively participate in and contribute to Mayer’s Continuous Quality Improvement efforts.
• Complete assigned training in a timely manner.
• May participate in or assist with physical inventory preparation or process.
• Demonstrate commitment to Mayer’s core values and vision to be First Choice with our suppliers, customers, and associates.
• Complete all other appropriate tasks or duties assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to plan delivery routes.
• Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and or maps.
• Able to complete work with minimal supervision.
• Able to remain professional and courteous always.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED, or some high school education with applicable experience
• Basic computer skills
• Large box truck driving experience.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Desired Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• Forklift operation experience

Other
Work Environment:

• The Driver spends most of their time in a delivery vehicle on highways and roadways.
• Temperatures in the work environment will vary depending upon the season.
• May be exposed to fumes, odors, dust, and gases.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to climb in and out of the delivery vehicle and sit for extended periods of time in a moving vehicle.
• Frequently stoops, kneels, crouches, and reaches.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs., and push and pull up to 300 lbs.
