Job description

Craftsmen Contractors is looking to hire a Dozer and Excavator Operators for the New Orleans, La. area. This is for long term commercial projects.

Pay is $22/hour. No per diem is offered for this position.

Job Duties:

• Inspect large equipment before and after use to ensure they are working properly
• Load and unload cargo and move them to the appropriate storage area
• Follow all safety procedures while operating equipment
• Utilize dozer and excavator for drainage tasks
• Selecting, fitting and removing attachments such as buckets, scoops, shovel blades, rock breaking hammers, winches and blades.
• Operate controls to excavate, break, drill, level, compact, gouge out, move, load and spread earth, rock, rubble, soil and other materials.
• Working from drawings, markers and verbal instructions.
• Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs when necessary
• Report needs for larger repairs to Supervisor or Project Manager

Job Requirements:

• Requires excellent communication and coordination skills. Individual must be organized, dedicated and prompt.
• 2+ years of experience working with dozer and excavator.
• Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards
• Strong work ethic.
• Will need to have all PPE and reliable transportation to get to work.
• Need to have drainage experience.
• Having a CDL and experience with GPS system is plus.
