Job description
Controls documents for the project from start to finish.
Reports to: Project Engineer
Essential Duties & Responsibilities*:
- Ensure all project staff have the most current documents (drawings, specifications, etc.) issued by the Architect.
- Ensure that the printer/reprographics company has the most current documents on file.
- Maintain the drawing sticks (construction drawings, shop drawings) and/or electronic files, ensuring that the information is up to date for Owner/jobsite meetings and general reference.
- Maintain a historical set of the documents.
- Maintain the subcontractor submittal files consisting of shop drawings, samples, product data, that the subcontractor submits for approval.
- Order documents, or make copies of the documents when they are needed.
- Maintain project engineering logs, including RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, and approval letters.
- Create M/WBE (Minority/Women Business Enterprise) report.
- Responsible for inventoried records retention at conclusion of project, including off-site storage.
Qualifications: Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to create routine reports and correspondence. Demonstrated self-motivation, maturity, and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing. Should have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
