Job description

We are looking for a Dishwasher to join our kitchen staff and maintain cleanliness around our restaurant. Dishwasher responsibilities include: collect dirty dishes, plates, glasses and utensils from the dumbwaiter; wash ALL pots, pans, storage containers, & knives by hand in the dish sinks; pre scrub & remove food from plates & utensils before placing in dish washing machine; inspect all items for cleanliness before putting away; stack washed items appropriately; take out garbage throughout the evening & at the end of the night from downstairs & upstairs; sweep & mops the kitchen floors; keep all areas of the kitchen & dish room clean & wiped down - all countertops, all refrigerators, etc; help cooks with prepping menu items when needed & cleaning up the prep areas quickly. Responsibilities

• Collect used kitchenware
• Load and unload dishwashing machines
• Wash specific items by hand
• Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
• Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, sent downstairs, especially during peak hours
• Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and inform owner when needing replenished
• Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues
• Remove garbage regularly
• Sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor

Skills

• Work experience as a Dishwasher or on Wait Staff
• Hands-on experience with industrial washing machines
• Ability to work as a team player & follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed
• Time management skills
• Attention to detail and sanitation rules
• Availability to work in shifts, during weekends and evenings
• High school diploma is a plus
• Stay off your cell phone during working hours unless it is an emergency

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $11.00 per hour
