Job description

1. Serves as Lead coordinating the activities of other employees assigned on a project or task force as needed; makes assignments, monitors progress, and provides continuing guidance.

2. Assists with the design, development and implementation of disability related programs, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other federal laws and regulations pertaining to persons with disabilities.

3. Analyzes recently enacted disability related laws and regulations to determine their impact on existing programs and processes within the Postal Service. Identify any deficiencies and impacts on employees. Act as subject matter expert by providing policy interpretation and recommendations for process improvements to ensure compliance with the new requirements have been met.

4. Oversees and coordinates the implementation of reasonable accommodation policies and procedures that comply with executive orders and EEOC guidelines; provides support and problem solving assistance to internal stakeholders relative to reasonable accommodations resolutions.

5. Research , analyze and evaluates various methods of accommodation to ensure that new, innovative and alternative approaches are considered for implementation to enhance workplace engagement.

6. Provides technical program advice, guidance and policy interpretation to internal stakeholders on all aspects of disability programs, policies and procedures. Acts as subject matter expert to help resolve complex or unique situations. Participates in activities to implement disability policies throughout the organization.

7. Develops and implements internal measures and/or reports on the status of ADA compliance and opportunities for persons with disabilities; maintains records of all disability and accommodation issues and their resolution. Coordinates the design, development and implementation of a national database to analyze and monitor reasonable accommodation requests.

8. Develops and works to implement national training programs to promote knowledge, awareness and sensitivity regarding disability related issues; oversees or conducts bias reduction and disability awareness seminars, workshops and training sessions.

9. Provides budget input for disability program plans, statement of work, time and budget factors in support of contracted projects: reviews and evaluates contract proposals and coordinates, monitors and evaluates contractor work.

10. Serves as primary liaison with representatives of private, professional and academic organizations, contractors and vendors, other government agencies, and employee and management organizations regarding disability program efforts; represents the functional area at conferences and meetings.

Pay: $94,260.00 - $113,110.00 per year
