JOB SUMMARY:

Directs, manages, and coordinates the planning, developing, maintaining, and administering of facility utilization, overhead budgets, capital expenditures, special projects and strategic planning to reduce costs and improve operating productivity. Assures effective utilization of tools, materials, facilities, and personnel for the Components, Subassembly, Assembly, and/or Completions areas.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Directs all repair and supply chain activities with requirements to meeting customer schedules. Adjusts work assignments to accommodate production flow.
• Supports Continuous Improvement initiatives within Operations that are required to meet production schedules and financial performance targets.
• Closely checks progress of work for adherence to schedules and good workmanship. Provides immediate status to GM on production problems that impact schedule adherence.
• Manages rework and assures compliance with FAA quality standards.
• Prioritizes and oversees VSM’s and VSL’s that make recommendations regarding workplace layouts, methods of production, and production efficiencies by auditing operations to improve production flow and reduce costs.
• Responsible for successful execution of the Annual Operating Plan
• Responsible for schedule performance, efficiency/productivity performance, labor standards, and other applicable information to enhance timely production of aircraft.
• Manages, oversees and continually fosters close coordination and effective working relations with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain Management, Finance and Sales & Customer Experience to ensure movement through production is to customers’ schedule
• Works with Human Resources to enhance training, hiring and employee development needs for the operation areas
• Oversees the purchase of necessary parts, materials, and supplies to fulfill requirements
• Recommends capital equipment improvement and expenditures.
• Responsible for expense budget and capital budget forecast performance.
• Responsible for proper safety practices, work rules, and good housekeeping habits.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering, Business or closely related program.
• Minimum 10 years manufacturing or relative experience required
• Leadership experience required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent negotiation skills required
• Proven track record of leading and developing high performing teams
• Demonstration of strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be self-motivated and self-disciplined, capable of working independently
• Microsoft Office, Presentation Skills
