Position Summary:
As a system leader, the Director of Privacy and Civil Rights, serving as the MHS Chief Privacy Officer, is responsible for the oversight of all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to the organization’s policies and procedures covering the privacy of, and access to, patient health information and data rights in compliance with federal and state laws and MultiCare Health Systems privacy policies and procedures. The Director is also designated as the MHS’s Section 504 and 1557 Coordinator. In this capacity, the Director is responsible for the oversight of all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to the organization’s policies and procedures covering patient civil rights and non-discrimination. This work is designed to mitigate risk and add value to the organization.

Minimum Requirements:
Eight (8) years of professional or technical experience performing any combination of HIPAA compliance, information/technical security, civil rights, non-discrimination, or legal related duties in a healthcare environment
Five (5) years of experience in a supervisory or lead capacity

Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in clinical, business, accounting, or related field
Master’s degree preferred
Professional compliance designation, such as Associate Compliance Professional, Certified Compliance Professional, or Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance required
Professional certification or designation in accessibility or inclusion, such as an ADA Coordinator or Certified Diversity Professional preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $170,561.74 per year
