I. INTRODUCTION
The National Association of Catholic Chaplains advocates for the profession of spiritual care and educates, certifies, and supports chaplains, clinical pastoral educators, and all members who continue the healing ministry of Jesus in the name of the Church.

II. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL PURPOSE

  • Responsible for the development and coordination of all matters and activities related to the professional Certification programs of members.
  • Responsible for the growth and development of the Catholic Partners in Pastoral Care and Certified Associate Chaplain (CAC) initiatives.
  • Responsible for expanding formation infrastructure and membership for other realms of chaplaincy beyond healthcare.
  • Responsible for inspiring a new generation of minsters to choose chaplaincy.

IV. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Primary:

  • Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Catholic Church by extending the ministry of the U.S. Bishops, particularly in the area of pastoral care.
  • Active member of a parish/faith community in good standing with the Catholic Church.

Education:

  • Masters in Theology or Pastoral Ministry required.
  • CPE training encouraged.

Experience:

  • An experienced practitioner as a Catholic chaplain or commissioned pastoral care minister.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in the Catholic Church’s ministerial and/or pastoral work with emphasis in chaplaincy, particularly in the fields of correctional, port, first responder, and other ministries.
  • Experience in facilitating group processes and in conducting training programs.
  • Demonstrated experience as a dynamic public speaker and presenter.
  • Demonstrated management experience including staff supervision, budget, and policy management.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully accomplish goals and implement envisioned initiatives and programs through collaboration, collegiality, and team organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written. Keen sense for attention to details.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with individuals and groups of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Ability to travel nationally, as needed.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year
