Platinum Staffing is currently seeking a Director of Nursing Services.

The ideal candidate leads by example and is visible out on the floor; with a customer service mindset and good general business understanding of how to effectively run a long term care nursing and rehabilitaion facility.

The Director of Nursing assists with ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by being responsible for the overall staffing, staff training and development, and management of personnel in the nursng department. The Director of Nursing also is responsible for the overall quality of care assessment, planning, documentation and provision of services of residents.

Responsibilities:

• Supervising day to day clinical and administrative operations of the nursing department
• Create a positive team environment that is patient/resident centered
• Demonstrate excellent understanding of clinical skills and key nursing programs
• Planning developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing the day to day functions of the nursing department, in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines
• Participate in devloping, maintaining, and updating our written policies and procedures that govern the day to day functions of the department
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies and charting
• Help determine staffing needs
• Provide direct nursing care as necessary

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years experience in nursing service administration required
• Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maine required
• Education or experience in long term care or geriatric nursing is preferred
• Must be able to to demonstrate age specific knowledge of developmental factors for adult and geriatric residents
• Demonstrate effective communication skills, problem solving and conflict resolution
• Must be flexible, punctual, professional and reliable
• Strong customer service skills and compassion
