Ascension Episcopal Church in Stillwater, MN, is seeking an Interim Choirmaster-Organist. While organist skills are strongly preferred, if you’re an excellent choir director and pianist, and willing to develop organist skills, we want to talk to you! Our recently-retired musician presided over a program of rich and varied choral and instrumental music, rooted in the Anglican Tradition. Our Interim will bridge this tradition with creative initiatives as we discern what’s next. We are seeking a partnership of up to 18 months, with someone who:

· works with us to plan beautiful, relational, and vibrant worship,

· challenges, inspires, and teaches us,

· honors and maintains existing musical relationships and helps us build new ones.

Parish resources include:

· an exceptional (Dobson, opus 30) pipe organ.

· a Yamaha grand piano, and a Steinway upright piano.

· an extensive music library.

· Malmark handbells and Orff instruments.

· a music budget of $3000-$5000 per year.

· clergy, and volunteer musicians, who are enthusiastic about, and committed to your success in this position!

Our Interim will have the opportunity to apply for the permanent position; a three-month severance package will be offered in the event our Interim is not selected for the permanent position, along with reasonable accommodation for a flexible end of employment date.
