Our organization currently operates two award-winning concepts – Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano and Ancho & Agave. We are looking for a Director of Human Resources to join our growing company. We operate restaurants in eight States and our restaurants average over $4.0 million in annual sales. We have plans to open 8 new Ancho & Agave locations in the next 3 years.The broad focus of this position is to administer the Company’s human resource management program and serve as the employee advocate within the company. The Director of Human Resources (DHR) will ultimately be accountable for systems of recruitment, retention, benefits administration, employee relations, corporate and unit compliance, disciplinary procedures and serving as the company’s EEO Officer. This person must be willing to relocate to Bloomington, IL.
Key areas of focus and responsibilities:
- Plan, lead, develop, coordinate and implement policies, processes, initiatives and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs
- Administer or oversee the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, benefits and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition and morale; occupational health and safety
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with Company policy
- Oversee staffing and talent acquisition needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management
- Monitor and ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Address any claims filed on the Company to ensure the best outcome
- Develop and implement departmental budget
- Engage as a self-starter with the ability to work efficiently and effectively
- Possess high-energy, hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves mentality
- Possess a strong personal value system that encompasses high integrity, honesty, a solid work ethic, high professional standards and strong moral character
- Positively impact the culture of the organization by understanding the culture and how policies and decisions made in HR impact Company culture
- Be highly adaptable and flexible with the ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment and enable significant change and growth
- Liaise with external advisors on HR matters … insurers, attorneys, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources management, business administration, organizational development or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience in a fast-paced, high performance environment
- A proven track record of managing multiple complex projects
- Must have leadership experience in a company of 500+ employees
