Director of Events & Marketing

The Christian County Chamber of Commerce located in beautiful southwest Kentucky has an open position for a Director of Events and Marketing.

Job Overview: The Director of Events & Marketing is responsible for developing and managing all planning and execution of membership events and program related activities falling under the Chamber that serve to meet the above mission. The position also is responsible for developing and managing all internal and external marketing and communications between the Chamber and affiliated programs with its membership and the community.

Such events and programs include but not limited to the Annual Dinner, Eye Opener Breakfasts, Compass Awards, Business After Hours, miscellaneous luncheon series, business round table discussions, business and leadership training programs, Chamber Golf Scramble, Skeet Shoot and Women in Business Symposium. The position requires promoting events and programs as well as participate in securing sponsors, participants, vendors, etc.

Job Reports to: President & CEO, Christian County Chamber of Commerce

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university desired; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Have experience with event planning.
• Have strong interpersonal skills and communication skills (written and verbally) to motivate volunteers and to work well in a team environment.
• Have analytical and financial management abilities to insure successful outcomes for events and programs.
• Be able to work flexible hours.
• Have strong organizational skills
• Have proficient computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office programs, internet, social media platforms, and e-mail along with creative programs such as Canva, Adobe, etc.
• Have a valid driver’s license and provide own transportation.
• Pass any required drug test.
• Have a love for collaborating with others to find a path forward and are a problem solver.
• Have fun while providing service and vigorous leadership on behalf of members resulting in a prosperous economy for all citizens in Christian County.

Compensation/Benefits:

Compensation for this position is salary based. Additional benefits include health, dental, and eye insurance, mileage reimbursement, simple IRA matching participation, vacation and multiple holiday days off throughout the year, and a cell phone stipend.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
