Pacific Rail Services (PRS) is looking for ambitious, capable, and skilled technicians to join our network of over 2,500 employees nationwide. PRS is an industry leader in all aspects of railroad terminal operations, including maintenance.
PRS is seeking an experienced, safety conscious Diesel Power Technician to perform maintenance, service and repair on a variety of equipment used in the daily activities at an Intermodal Terminal. This includes:
-Hostling Tractors
-Pick Up Trucks
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Be proficient with maintenance, diagnosis and repairs of diesel hostler trucks and gas pick up trucks.
- Strict adherence to company, railroad and industry safety rules and policies.
- Recognize and identify non-diesel specific related repair or maintenance items such as safety appliances, tires, hydraulic systems, etc.
- Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance which includes identifying and repairing damaged or worn components.
- Troubleshoot and repair electric, diesel and hydraulic components on diesel tractors.
- Maintain a clean, safe and productive workplace at all times.
- Document all work performed to maintain vehicle and equipment record keeping integrity.
- Maintain a positive and learning teamwork atmosphere by acting and communicating in a professional, courteous and helpful manner.
Rate of pay is $30.00 - $35.00 per hour, DOE.
Applicants must have prior experience performing general maintenance on diesel engines, with basic knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems. Basic welding and fabrication skills are preferred.
All applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen. Must possess a valid driver’s license at all times. Must be available to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
