Job description
    Position Summary
      The Diabetes Educator ensures that quality diabetes education is delivered through a coordinated and systematic process. Plans, organizes, implements and evaluates diabetes programs in compliance with National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education, including insurance carrier program guidelines and requirements pertaining to reimbursement. Coordinates the diabetes education program for all in- and out-patients
    Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (BSN) in an accredited RN program
    • License/Certifications: Current and active Registered Nurse in the State of Maine; Current Insulin Pump Certification; Certified Diabetes Educator
    • Experience: Is familiar with the lifelong process of managing a chronic disease, with at least two years related experience in the health care field
    • Excellent decision-making and organizational skills are essential
