Desktop Support Technician - Sacramento, CA

Desktop Support Technicians needed to provide end user support and desktop/deskside support.

  • The hours will be 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.
  • This will be a 3-4+ month project.

Position Overview
As a member of the team you will work in a highly directed environment. Your assignments will include End User Support, desktop / deskside support, and repair activities such as replaceable unit swapping, image loading, and unit testing using a detailed script. You will also perform other non-troubleshooting duties. Direction will be provided by script, help desk or service desk. There may be times where you may be asked to participate in Win 10 refresh activities as well and support other company locations in the area.

Responsibilities

  • End User Support - basic and moderately complex troubleshooting and repair activities, typically associated in an end-user environment, including but not limited to PC's, desktops, laptops, tablets and printers
  • Transformation Services calls, installing and servicing PCs, and PC peripherals and/or electronic equipment
  • Perform imaging of devices, upgrades to O-365
  • Takes service calls and performs incident specific activities as directed by Help Desk, Service Desk or script
  • May perform routine installs, moves, adds and changes as part of a directed team, including:
  • Complex desktop and laptop break fix work
  • Whole unit replacement
  • Simple desktop printer fixes
  • Load software with a script
  • Performs scripted image loading, unit diagnostics and replaceable unit swapping
  • Simple troubleshooting by running basic diagnostics and performs basic module replacement on PCs, servers and peripherals
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities on certain products as directed
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism in actions, demeanor and dress.
  • Insures customer satisfaction throughout
  • Ensures client specific Service Level Agreements are met and incident and request tickets are updated accordingly within the ticketing system
  • Understands and follows all documented service operations policies and procedures.
  • Other duties or certifications may be assigned to meet business needs
  • Display outstanding technical and professional services skills at all times

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Requires a HS Degree and a minimum of 6 months of hands-on experience with laptops and desktops
  • Computer building background experience helpful
  • A+ certification preferred
  • Ideal but not required to possess specific Manufacturers / industry certifications and/or training as required. i.e. Dell, Cisco, Microsoft, COMPTIA A+, and NETWORK+
  • General knowledge of desktop hardware and software including basic knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Basic mechanical skills and understanding of electro static discharge (ESD) procedures
  • Ability to resolve basic / non-complex problems as directed
  • Ability to lift and or move various computer equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and processes with minimal instruction
