JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Design Release Engineer Effective Date: 8/18/2022

Reports To: CTO FLSA Status: Full-Time/Exempt

Purpose
Design and Release of parts and assemblies for battery packs and accessories for battery packs, including mechanical, electrical and thermal components. This includes computer aided engineering analysis,2D drawing analysis, System Integration, Bill of
Materials (BOM) Analysis, Bill of Process (BOP) Analysis, and requirements analysis.

• Design Component Technical Specifications (CTS) and Subsystem Technical Specifications (SSTS).

• Release structural designs and manage Engineering change.

• Reviews and finalizes criteria and typical sections using math data.

• Develops and maintains BOM (bill of manufacturing) and BOP (bill of process) to ensure manufacturability and quality.

• Provides input to production manufacturing for Design for Assembly.

• Support Technical reviews and serve as structures specialist for Peer Reviews.

• Uses Lessons Learned and Best Practices for continuous improvement of designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.

• Proven development and application knowledge of relevant SAE, or UL standards is desirable.

• Design/Release experience for automotive or other industrial components is desirable.

• Computer aided design engineering, technical analysis, DFMEA, and practical experience including component testing validation is desirable.

• Strong knowledge of GD&T dimensional methodologies and tolerance stacks is desirable.
