SALARY:
$42,054.00 Annually
OPENING DATE: 9/15/2022

UNIT: AFSCME – Grade Level 6
DEPARTMENT: Mathematics
REPORTS TO: Chairperson, Mathematics

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Organizes and coordinates the administrative workflow.
  • Responsible for coordinating complex departmental projects from inception through completion.
  • Provides primary secretarial support to the department.
  • Identifies problems and/or inconsistencies in the class scheduling systems and provides for their solution or correction.
  • Responsible for Administrator's files, calendar and correspondence.
  • Prepares complex technical and/or statistical reports for the purpose of course level and program level assessment, student surveys, and data collection.
  • Arranges and implements, as directed, meetings and conferences.
  • Participates in the training and motivation of other support staff.
  • Directs students, employees or department members to appropriate resources.
  • Operates office equipment.
  • Maintains accurate files and records via computerized systems.
  • Orders office supplies and instructional/administrative materials as needed.
  • Sorts and distributes mail within the department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous work experience in an academic area/college/school setting
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Self-motivated with excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Accuracy and close attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills necessary in order to deal with a multi-faceted office environment, students and the general public

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate's degree in a STEM related filed, preferably mathematics or mathematics education
  • Working knowledge of Colleague system

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
