Job description
- Lead the planning and implementation for all off-site programming including the SPARK Program, PEAK Program, Community Based Transition Academy, and the Expulsion Program.
- To assist school staff in the maintenance and enforcement of school rules and acceptable student behavior as outlined in the District Code of Conduct.
- Assist in maintaining an atmosphere throughout the programs that ensures safety and is conducive to teaching and learning.
- Instructs and advises students regarding their responsibility to adhere to school rules and policies, to foster a safe school environment, and to respect other individuals and property.
- Support implementation of student data collection systems.
- Oversight of tutoring.
- Assist with scheduling and transportation.
- Attend and serve as administrative designee for Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings.
- Assist in developing policies and practices to assure building security and safety.
- Provide professional development to certified and non-certified staff on best practices.
- Work with families and outside agencies for placement and support of students
- Participate and facilitate staff meetings
- Serve as a liaison between Windsor High School and off-site programs
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director or Supervisor. The Dean serves under the direct supervision of the Director of Pupil and Special Education Services and receives direction from the Secondary Supervisor of Special Education.

- Ability to collaborate with a variety of individuals within the district
- Knowledge of special education laws and procedures
- Ability to respond to the changing needs of staff and students

- Knowledge of PowerSchool and technical application
- Knowledge of best practices in administration, program evaluation, and staff supervision
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans
- Be dedicated to ensure high achievement for all students

Must possess CT teaching certification endorsement in a secondary subject area or related services. Five years teaching experience at the secondary level and a graduate in special education, counseling or administration (preferred).
