ABOUT FIREFLY AEROSPACE

Firefly Aerospace Inc. is an American end-to-end space transportation company committed to providing economical and convenient access to space for small payloads through the design, manufacture, and operation of reliable launch and spacecraft vehicles. Firefly’s launch vehicles utilize common technologies, manufacturing infrastructure, and launch capabilities, providing LEO launch solutions for up to ten metric tons of payload. Combined with Firefly’s in-space vehicles, such as the Space Utility Vehicle (SUV) and Blue Ghost Lunar Lander, Firefly provides the space industry with a single source for missions from LEO to the surface of the Moon or beyond. Firefly is headquartered in Cedar Park, TX.

SUMMARY

We are building rockets and moon landers and space-grade parts over here, yet none of this happens without reliable tools, innovative thinking, and collaboration. Firefly Aerospace is tackling problems in the “new space” market, which means we have opportunities to extract the best processes from “heritage space” development and combine that with today’s available technology to provide beautiful solutions for these challenges.

The Information Technology (IT) department works together to support the flow of information between teams, build new software tools to make production more efficient, and supply various ways to share and distribute technical information to our customers and partners. We rely on several software products (referred to as our Enterprise Applications) to keep the company organized, so we can move fast and get hardware into space.

As the Data Analyst of our Enterprise Applications, you will help us collect data, identify areas for improvement (such as cleaning up “bad” data), and perform analysis on data to interpret the health of the business from multiple angles. You will work with various teams to capture business processes and requirements and use that information to design solutions and proposals for process changes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) of the design, release, supply chain, and manufacturing processes.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs. Document requirements, define scope and objectives, and formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies.
  • Field questions and requests from employees as it pertains to reporting tools.
  • Develop reports and dashboards.
  • Coordinate new hire, onboarding and on-going training on the tools.
  • Create, provide, and maintain documentation.
  • Provide updates to reporting manager and team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Skilled with MS Excel, Grafana, Power BI, or another database reporting tool.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with large and disparate data sets, including data collection processes, data analysis, and writing reports on findings of the research.
  • Proficiency in SQL with a proven ability to aggregate, gather and manipulate data.
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC) and Agile Development.
  • Working knowledge of best practice requirements gathering processes.
  • The ability to problem-solve and make decisions (such as scheduling and prioritizing work tasks, organizing materials, and keeping project managers informed of potential conflicts).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate.
  • A curious mind: willingness and excellence in finding and communicating technical solutions.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to develop concise and effective presentations tailored to specific audiences at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong sense of urgency, drive, attention to detail, and commitment to timely deliverables.
  • Ability to work independently (self-driven) and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Desired

  • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Systems (i.e., Teamcenter, Oracle Agile PLM) and ERP Systems (i.e., Odoo, SAP, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain and Manufacturing Processes.
  • Experience with utilizing code repositories (i.e., GitHub, Bitbucket).
  • Experience with Python.

Firefly offers outstanding benefits for our employees, including generous health, dental and vision plans with low plan deductibles, parental leave, educational reimbursement, short term disability, pet Insurance, and flexible PTO options.

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
