Position: 230040 - Data Analyst

Location: Hybrid - Los Angeles, CA

Responsibilities:

· Business Intelligence reporting requirement functional and technical specification, refinement, and review

· BI reports specification review & refinement on tools such as SAP BOBJ-WebI & Power BI

· Provides answers to clients by identifying problems; researching answers; guiding client through corrective steps

· Improves system performance by identifying problems; recommending changes.

· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks.

· Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

· Conduct data engineering, data maintenance, strategic analysis, and other IT system development work required to ensure datasets are accurate and operational.

· The analyst will use Power BI to develop actionable visualizations to:

o Assist with targeting

o Educate staff on our data

o Identify database gaps. Target audiences for dashboards include account executives, energy efficiency consultants, and other program leadership.

· Design and Develop data products within Tableau, SAP Business Objects, Alteryx and which include Reports, Dashboards and underlying ETL workflows

· Responsibilities include ensuring IT standards are met, production readiness processes are followed, and a quality system product is delivered into production

· Capture Business requirements and formulate technical design and documentation for reporting solutions.

· Troubleshoot, diagnose, research, recommend and implement workable, realistic solutions for any enhancement or issue related to existing Tableau and SAP BOBJ environments

· Prepare and execute test plans for new functionality

· Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs

· Work with cross-functional teams, including with business leaders to design, develop and evolve reporting and analytics solutions while guiding them on the best business intelligence practices. Data driven and systems-thinking approach to solving complex problems

· Requirements Gathering and Documentation

· Capture Business requirements and formulate technical design and documentation for reporting solutions

· Publish communication related to the deployment of new functionality

· Translate user requirements into technical specifications and design documents

Required:

· Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related specialized field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Specialized certification may be required.

· 5 years’ experience in the field of performing analysis and providing recommendations.

· Ability to provide extensive technical analysis in data planning, engineering and design and make decisions or recommendations for programs and projects development and implementation.

· Ability to interface with clients to determine requirements.

· Experience with one or more of the following:

o Hadoop Ecosystem

o Talend ETL

o SAP BW

Preferred Skills/Attributes

· Utility sector experience is a plus

· SQL – date engineering support, SQL to use conduct data engineering, and data maintenance, and analysis

· Data visualization skills

· Making dashboards and presentations

· Excel skills – medium to advanced skills, pivot tables, V-lookups

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $65.00 per hour
