Well known owner and operator of shopping warehouse clubs has immediate need for a Cybersecurity Engineer with an analytical mind and a detailed understanding of cybersecurity methodologies. Cybersecurity engineers are expected to have strong attention to detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure, and deliver on tight deadlines.

This is a hybrid role, and is a direct hire position.

To ensure success, a cybersecurity engineer must display an excellent understanding of Network Infrastructure, Firewalls, Switches, WIFI APs, VPN, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS, Web-Proxy, and Security Audits. Top candidates will be comfortable working with a variety of technologies, security problems, and troubleshooting of the network.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere and apply Company’s Code of Conduct and Company Ethics at all times

  • Observe and apply Company's Policies and Procedures
  • Protect Company’s assets and working tools at all times
  • Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of Company's data, systems, and networks.
  • Performing assessments and penetration testing
  • Development and implementation of secure network solutions.
  • Architecting and engineering trusted systems into secure systems.
  • Managing audit/intrusion and security technology systems.
  • Troubleshooting security and network problems.
  • Responding to all system and/or network security breaches.
  • Ensuring that the organization's data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls.
  • Participating in the change management process.
  • Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities.
  • Daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with the relevant departments in the organization.

EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES:

  • Experience with Firewall Security, Cloud Security, Web Applications, Email Gateways, SIEMS and Endpoint Security.
  • Solid understanding of the OSI model and renowned ports and services (may not be a requirement, but is often preferred)
  • The ability to work well with others, including collaboration and communication with other departments
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to work under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Python, C++, Java, Go, and/or Power Shell.
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Great awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques.
  • Able to rapidly learn and apply new technology concepts under pressure.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity methodologies
  • The ability to evaluate system changes for security implications and the knowledge to make recommendations for improvements
  • Knowledge of current cybersecurity trends, as well as the continued research of emerging trends and hacking techniques.
  • Networking experience with the TCP/IP stack is a plus.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR FORMAL TRAINING, YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND/OR SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:

  • A degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or related qualification.
  • 3 years of work experience with incident detection, incident response, and forensics.
  • Experience with Firewall, Network Security, Cloud Security, Web Applications, Email Gateways, SIEMS and Endpoint Security.
  • Proficiency in one of the following languages: Python, C++, Java, Go, and/or Power Shell.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Great awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques.
  • Able to rapidly learn and apply new technology concepts under pressure.
  • Bi-lingual a plus, Spanish speaking preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $67,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
